At YMCA BC - Kamloops we offer two options of Y Summer Day Camps for campers ages 6-12 years of age. Children who are entering kindergarten in 2023 are not yet eligible to attend. Camps run 8:15am - 5:15pm at both our summer camp locations.
WEEKLY SUMMER CAMP Waitlist
The John Tod Centre weekly recreational day camp is located at 150 Wood St.
Fees: $185 per week. Price will be prorated for week with holiday stat closure.
Hours: 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday to Friday Closed on all Statutory Holidays Late fees will apply for pick up after 5:15

Our Monthly Licensed Downtown Camp option runs in the current Downtown After School Program - 1136 6th Ave (St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, lower level - entrance by field.)
Y Summer Monthly Camps are the perfect place for kids to be kids! Camps are open to children ages 6-12. There are numerous exciting activities, with plenty of choices each day. Campers will enjoy games, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, community activities, and the great outdoors. At the Y, we are proud to provide safe, fun and high-quality programs that encourage children to develop in spirit, mind and body. Parents and guardians can be sure their children are in safe, capable hands when they are with Y staff and volunteers at our day camps. Upon registration you will receive an activity schedule for each week
Keep your kids active and happy this summer while helping them grow and learn! Campers ages 6-12 spend fun-filled days doing activities like swimming, arts & crafts, field trips, sports and games.
* Our After School Programs and Downtown camps are licensed childcare facilities. Government subsidy is accepted at our Monthly Licensed camp and NOT for the weekly recreation camps at John Tod Centre Y.
CAMP STAFF & VOLUNTEERS - Camp staff are selected for their experience and skill with children. All of our staff have certification in first aid and CPR, and receive training in leadership, safety and emergency procedures. All ‘Y’ staff and volunteers go through a security clearance prior to the start of camp.
LABEL BELONGINGS – Campers’ belongings should be labeled. Kamloops YMCA - YWCA will not be responsible for any lost or stolen articles.
WHAT TO BRING TO DAY CAMP:
• Nut free bag lunch with extra nutritional snacks • Water Bottle • Sunscreen – children are responsible for applying, with reminders and assistance • Swimsuit and towel EVERYDAY • Weather appropriate clothing and footwear – WE WILL BE OUTSIDE AND WALKING A LOT • YMCA Hats will be provided and must be worn on outings
HEALTH & SAFTEY – Our programs adhere to YMCA and Interior Health Childcare Licensing health and safety protocols.
CAMPERSHIP SUBSIDY PROGRAM – Donations from individuals, service groups and businesses assist youth whose financial circumstances would prevent them from attending camp. We would like to ensure that all children have the opportunity to benefit a YMCA Camp experience. We have subsidies and extended payment plans.
