The John Kjelson Memorial Service Award

The John Kjelson Memorial Service Award is given in recognition of respected, long-time Kamloops Y Facilities Services Supervisor, John Kjelson, who left us too soon on August 13, 2012. This award is intended to recognize those individuals within our organization who demonstrate an unfailing dedication to fulfill the YMCA of Kamloops mission, as they carry out their role with respect, honesty, caring and a sense of responsibility.

If you are a member, volunteer or employee of the YMCA of Kamloops, nominate someone you know within our organization who works quietly and tirelessly to make our Y the best it can be. All completed forms will be reviewed by a committee of the YMCA of Kamloops staff and volunteers.

Throughout his 26 years of service to the Y, John Kjelson's dedication to our mission and his sense of community was evident in everything he did. John was a reliable, dedicated and valued member of the team at the YMCA of Kamloops, and his legacy lives on in the work we do every single day.
