We have a prerequisite component to swim lesson registration to ensure members register in the correct level pertaining to their swim ability. Example: Member must have passed Bobbers to register in Floaters. If you are unable to register into the level you require, please call or email the member service desk and/or bring proof of completed level or evaluation to registration.

SWIM LESSON REPORT CARDS
TO SEARCH A SWIM LESSON REPORT CARD, ENTER THE SWIMMER BY USERNAME, which is first letter capitalized for first name, then type rest of the name lower case, then first letter capitalized for last name, then type the rest of the name. All one word.

Lesson Descriptions
In this parent-assisted program, you and your child will be introduced to entering and exiting the water, getting your child's face wet, movement thorough the water and holds, as well as an introduction to breath control and floats. The love is equivalent to Starfish & Duck in the Red Cross Program. child will become acquainted with breath control, floats, surface support and various movements through the water.
REGISTER FOR SPLASHERS & BUBBLERS HERE
Your child be introduced to the water, bobbing, and working on assisted front and back glides. This class is an equivalent to Sea Otter in the Red Cross program.

Your child will be introduced to unassisted front and back floats, front and back glides and a 3m swim on front and back. This class is equivalent to Salamander in the Red Cross Program. *Child must have passed Bobbers to register.
Floaters register HERE
Your child will be introduced to side kicking, deep water and building endurance for front and back flutter kick. This class is equivalent to Sunfish in the Red Cross Program. *Child must have passed Floaters to register.
gliders register HERE
Your child will be introduced to front swim using arms and legs for up to 10m, deep water and surface support. This class is equivalent to Crocodile in the Red Cross Program. *Must have passed Gliders to register.
divers register here
Your child will continue to work on advanced skills in deep water such as surface support and 25m swim on front and back, as well as be introduced to front and back crawl. This class is equivalent to Whale in the Red Cross Program. *Child must have passed Divers to register.
jumpers register here
This class is an introduction submersion, breath control, surface supports and gliding (streamlined). This class is equivalent to Swim Kids 1 in the Red Cross Program.
otters register here
Your child will further develop their glides by working on kicking and rolling. This class is equivalent to Swim Kids 2 in the Red Cross Program. *Child must have passed Otters to register.
seals register here
DOLPHINS
Your child will be introduced sequence for front crawl and back crawl, as well as an introduction to sculling and deep water skills. This class is equivalent to Swim Kids 3 and 4 in the Red Cross Program. *Child must have passed Seals to register.
dolphins REGISTER HERE
MUST HAVE PASSED DOLPHINS (OR SWIM KIDS 3/4) TO REGISTER. Your child will be working primarily on furthering their endurance for front and back crawl, along with treading water and sculling. This class is equivalent to Swim Kids 5 in the Red Cross program.
SWIMMERS REGISTER HERE
SWIMMERS MUST HAVE PASSED SWIMMERS (SWIM KIDS 5) TO REGISTER. Your child will continue to advance their endurance of front and back crawl and will be introduced to elementary backstroke (whip kick on back). This class is equivalent to Swim Kids Level 6 in Red Cross programs.
SWIMMERS MUST HAVE PASSED STAR 1 (SWIM KIDS 6) TO REGISTER. Your child will be introduced to breaststroke (whip kick on front) and will work on completing an endurance swim of 100m. This class is equivalent to Swim Kids Level 7 in Red Cross programs.
SWIMMERS MUST HAVE PASSED STAR 2 (SWIM KIDS 7) TO REGISTER. Your child will be advancing their elementary backstroke, front crawl and back crawl techniques, as well as basic water safety recognition and rescue.
SWIMMERS MUST HAVE PASSED STAR 3 (SWIM KIDS 8) TO REGISTER. Your child will be learning side stroke, breaststroke, and dolphin kick. Endurance of eggbeater kick and more advanced water safety will also be taught. This class is equivalent to Swim Kids Level 9 in Red Cross programs.
STAR 4 REGISTER HERE
SWIMMERS MUST HAVE PASSED STAR 4 (SWIM KIDS 9) TO REGISTER. Your child will be introduced to butterfly and will work up to swimming a distance of 500m. Rookie patrol rescues, first aid, and some basic teaching strategies will be touched on as well. This class is equivalent to Swim Kids Level 10 in Red Cross programs.
STAR 5 REGISTER HERE
SWIMMERS MUST HAVE PASSED STAR 5 (SWIM KIDS 10) TO REGISTER. Your child will continue to work on advanced strokes (butterfly & side stroke), water safety, first aid, rescues and teaching aspects.
STAR 6 REGISTER HERE
Members receive a reduced rate on Group Swimming Lessons and other specialty programs. If your child is a member, they get the perks of unlimited public swimming, early registration, and access to Playcare services.
30 Min lessons - $2/lesson for Y members , $6/lesson for non-members 45 min lessons - $3/lesson for y members, $9/lesson for non-members 60 min lessons - $4/lesson for Y members, $12/lesson for non-members
private swim lessons register here
Private lessons are available for booking. $25 +tax /lesson - each lesson is 30min long
Private lessons are grouped in a set of 5-6 lessons (depending on the season) and lessons must be booked as a package.

Private Lesson Cancellation Policy: Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance of lesson cannot be refunded or rebooked.
