The Home Alone Program is designed to provide children 10 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied.
The babysitting course is a nationally recognized program designed to help course participants develop self-assurance, knowledge and skills required for babysitting duties These are important tools for your pre-teen to have as they begin to build invaluable skills for a lifetime. Must be 11 at course start date.
Have you ever thought about exploring another region of Canada, meeting new people, learning Canada's official languages and exploring Canada's cultural diversity? The YMCA, through the support of Canadian Heritage, offers two exchange programs:
YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange:
YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange (SWSE) Is a six-weeks program that offers youth aged 16-17 the opportunity to gain paid work experience, practice their second official language skills, and discover another community within Canada.

YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada:
The Youth Exchanges Canada (YEC) program is designed for groups of 10 to 30 participants between the age of 12 and 17 years of old. Participants are paired with same-age groups from another province or territory, and they travel to each other's communities, staying for at least 5 days.
Applications are open to adult group leaders applying on behalf of their group.
